Just a few wedding questions?
Theme: Casual Romantic

Colors: Chocolate and Pale yellow

Flowers: Yellow Roses and Daisy's

Dresses: Bride-Cream colored Off the shoulder...very small train, no veil, very plain, and unadorned, it was the cut that mattered. Groomsment in Cream tuxes with Chocolate vests/shirts yellow ties. Bridesmaids-Tea length Chocolate dresses with Yellow sashes

Ceremony: Traditional Vows, but short simple and to the point

Reception: haha...Fire Hall Reception. i come from a big Hunkey Family...everyone in my area has their reception in firehalls...even those with money. Very Casual...lots of music, dancing. food-Stuffed Cabage Rolls, Chicken Parmagon, Salads, Veggies, and LOTS of desert

Presents: The usual...housewares. A lot of what we registered for from Target and J.C. Penny's

Honeymoon: a few nights at a Mt. Lodge in the Pocono's...it was all about being together. and there couldn't be a more beautiful place to do it. It wasn't important that there be a lot to do...just be with one another...Figured we'd save the exotic trip for a time when we plan on leaving the hotel room...lol

Hope that helps! God bless you and good luck on your Wedding!
Reply:Our theme was "A Wedding" - lol.

For a July wedding, our colors were lilac, pink, yellow, and light teal. The colors were taken from the bridesmaids' dresses which were a print with little flowers in those colors - tea length, pretty summer dresses with v-front, short pouf sleeves, basque waist, full skirt, back had three crisscrossed straps - very nice and summery! There were four attendants, so each had a color assigned - for example, the 'lilac' bridesmaid wore a wreath of lilac colored flowers in her hair, there were lilac ribbons trailing from her bouquet; her matching groomsman (they wore light gray tuxes) had a lilac bowtie and cummerbund. It was really neat to match up the colors this way, and tied everything together.

My gown was very traditional - long sleeves (yes, it was hot, but the gown of my dreams), scoop neck, basque waist, full skirt, cathedral trail - embellishments with crystals, pearls, beads and lace appliques. Wore a small tiara with fingertip veil.

Our ceremony was at our hometown church, and was in Ukrainian. We had a lovely buffet dinner and dance at a hotel ballroom. Around 200 guests.

No honeymoon - chose to put the bucks into the wonderful wedding celebration!
Reply:Brown and pink, using cherry blossoms as an unofficial "theme" on the invitations, programs, cake, etc.

White calla lillies for my bouquet, pink callas for bridesmaids, callas for boutineres (sp?)

Centrepieces were some floating flowers with votives around, I just let the florist sort it out. They werent completely my taste, but the least of my worries.

My dress was Alfred Sung 6616, and my bridesmaids wore Alfred Angelo separates. I got them freshwater pearl necklaces to wear.

We got married at a winery, outside, and the reception was inside. It was gorgeous.

We mostly got money and gift cards, our guests knew that we had to travel a long way to get back home. And we dont have a big giant house with garage and basement like many Americans have.

Our honeymoon was in Bora Bora.

I used Martha Stewart Weddings a lot while I was planning. There are so many great ideas in there you can either use or alter to fit your own wedding. Get your friend a copy!
Reply:honeymoon,enjoy life
Reply:first wedding cost $25K or more, honeymoon in hawaii, three weeks. divorced 13 years later. Second wedding for less than $500, honeymoon in puerto vallarta and have traveled throughout the US and Europe. Much better relationship.
Reply:no theme, just clean and modern

black, white, green, silver (it was near the holidays)

white roses, white and green dendrobium orchids, black calla lilies

maggie sottero monterey, black halter tea length for girls

we wrote the entire thing ourselves and my husband's uncle performed the ceremony, it was very secular

awesome with open bar and homemade wine

this has nothing to do with planning your friends wedding

Reply:my wedding is coming up on march 8 and my shower is next weekend, so i can't answer your question about gifts i received, but as far as everything else.... :)

-we don't have a particular theme

-our colors are apple red, white, and silver

-our flowers are stargazer lilies, white calla lilies, and red roses

-my dress came from david's bridal, and it has the apple red lining like the picture hopefully shows

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns...

-my bridesmaids dresses are this dress, but in euro red and the sash is euro white... if the link does not take you to the dress, it is style 454

http://www.billlevkoff.com/collections/i...

my MOH is wearing a white shawl, while the other girls are wearing the red one that comes with the dress

-we are having our ceremony and reception in a big hall, one right after the other... it saved us some money and we like the fact that our guests won't have to leave our ceremony and try to find our reception location... we are renting five columns of different heights and decorating them with drapery hanging between them as our alter area.

-we are having our honeymoon in san diego, somewhere neither one of us have been

hope this helps some!!
Reply:theme - none

honeymoon - Tahiti
Reply:Well it wasn't my wedding lol ... but my brother was recently married and like you, I did a lot of the planning ...

There was no real 'theme' - except I guess u could call it a traditional winter wedding.

Colours: Red, White, Blue

Flowers: Trailing Red Rose bouquet for the Bride and white bouquets for the bridal party.

Dresses: Bride wore a white 'princess' full skirt dress with a strapless beaded bodice (really pretty). Bridesmaids wore a royal blue silk strapless floor length dress with a white accent in the middle and a white beaded shawl.

Ceremony: At a small 1800's chapel - quite historic.

Reception: At a lakeside reception for about 250+ people!!!

Honeymoon: They went to New Caledonia for just over a week.

Well, that's about it. Hope you get some great ideas ... good luck!!
Reply:color: maroon and white

flowers: white chrysanthemums and maroon roses

honey moon: Ireland!! sooo romantic!
Reply:Theme:

I cant say that its really a theme, not overly shown at least. Its nature and Indian jungle, but all in flowers. Our invitations are from beyondinviting.com and our closure is a tree of life. We have trees made of flowers as our centerpiece, with animals made of different flowers on each table (instead of a table number, each person is at a certain animal table) They have grass made of green hydrangeas.

Colors:

Red, as the main color. But complemented by light and deep orange, pale yellow, pale and deep deep pinks. Also a lot of plant greens for grass colors.

Flowers:

As you can tell our decorations are almost all flowers. We gave her kind of free range with a few things. NO CARNATIONS. And no fillers anywhere!

But mostly alstroemeria, amaryllis, gerber daisies, hyacinth, lily (Asiatic), lily (Oriental) *tons of orchids and peonies* (these are our main flowers*, protea, ranunculus, roses, snapdragon, stock, sunflowers

Dresses:

I am wearing

http://flickr.com/photos/23157290@N02/22...

But I am having it custom made by the designer of this dress so the sash is red, and has different beading (Indian Sari design)

My bridesmaids are wearing this dress, also being made by our designer:

http://www.alvinavalenta.com/alv_bm/disp...

Maid of honor in Red, One bridesmaid in pale pink, And one in pale yellow. This helps cause they all have different skin so the colors look nice on them. They will all have color that matches their dress for the bouquet and I will be carrying multicolored bouquet

Ceremony:

We are having a very short ceremony, my family is Catholic, and his is Hindu. We couldn't make them both happy by doing both so instead we are having a very short ceremony, preformed by a justice of the peace, in about 30 minutes. We have a 4 piece orchestra for our march.

Reception:

We have a cocktail hour (the orchestra will also be here), followed by a 5 hours reception hall in the penthouse. 5 course sit down meal. Cake, made by a designer in the city, red with gold henna all over it. We have a 10 piece swing band. And an open bar for the whole wedding (except the ceremony of course!)

Presents:

I don't know yet! But we are living together, and have everything so we registered for very little small things. Like 100 10 dollar things. My family normally only gives cash.

Honeymoon:

We haven't actually decided yet, I want to go to Europe, he wants Vegas. We only have five months to decide, hehe.

I hope this helped! Hope your friend has a great wedding!

We are getting married on June 28th, 2008.
Reply:don't really have a theme

color = hot pink %26amp; black

main flower = gerbera daisy....centerpieces are large cylinders with orchids in water with votive candles

dresses = black long dresses chosen by each of the bridesmaids.

ceremony and reception are in the same place. it is at a resturant (that has accomadations w/a dance floor). We will have about 125 guests. since it is a resturant we are getting to create a menu - our guests will choose what they want to eat from 3 appetizers, 2 salads and 5 entries. Plus they will have a bread service...pastries on the table...bananas foster done table side %26amp; our wedding cake. Guests will be able to take anything home to go except icecream and coffee.

so far I have received a truck load of gifts from my registry (registered only @ macys with many different price points)

we are going to orlando, fl for a few days after the wedding (going to sea world, epcot and gatorland - yes gatorland) and then in July we are heading to Alaska for our actual honeymoon.
