If money wasn't an issue if and when you got married what would you want served at the reception!?

For me I have one of two ideas,if it was just a plate dinner I'd have the choice of:

A cute garden salad

Prime Rib or Lobster tail

Baked potato or Wild rice

Grilled vegetables or Asparagus

Or if I had a buffet,I'd have a soul food theme

Fried Chicken,Smothered Pork Chops,BBQ Ribs,Fried Catfish,Red Beans and Rice,Collard Greens,Candied Yams,Macaroni and Cheese,Cabbage,smothered potatoes and lots more

Oh and my wedding cake at either weather it's a plate dinner or a buffet dinner would be this huge chocolate cake with a layer of white chocolate fudge, snickers bars, and chocolate mousse in it,with pink frosting and my favorite flowers white daisies decorating it!

So what would be yalls ideas?

If money wasn't an issue if and when you got married what would you want served at the reception!?
(buffet style, definately) standing rib roast or filet mignon and bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast....herb roasted potatoes or au gratin potatoes....french onion soup....glazed carrots....green beans with almonds....green dinner salad....fresh fruit kabobs....fresh strawberry pie and a big wedding cake with strawberries and whipped cream frosting....chocolate fountain....ice sculptures....champagne/open bar.

However, I do like the soul food theme too but the food is very filling and heavy for this particular day....on Sunday's it's perfect.
Reply:If money were no object.....I would have a Steak and lobster fest. All they wanted as long as they wanted. With all the trimmings.Open bar with champagne on each table.Every table would have their own waiter.Food cooked to order.Cake would be Champagne cake 4 tires high.Every one would receive a bouquet of flowers as they left the reception.......
Reply:a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
Reply:I'd have to steal your idea of the soul food buffet, that sounds really good.
Reply:Money wasn't an issue at a friend of mines, and what she had was 3 different stations. They were: seafood, soulfood, finger food.

The seafood station was packed with lobster tails, crab legs, shrimp cooked any way you could think of, and fish galore.

The soulfood station was like the one you are talking about. Fried chicken, macaroni %26amp; cheese, mashed potatoes, pork chops, collard greens, everything!!!

The finger food was more like Make Your Own Taco and little sandwiches and stuff.

And the cake was huge! And it had cupcakes cascading around it in a circular form!

I say go with the soul food theme, cause no matter what race or ethnic background the majority of the guests will be, they will love it!!!

Congrats, and have fun!
Reply:A friend of mine had her and the groom's grandmas and aunts make the dishes that they were known for (it was a small town) and that is what they had for their wedding buffet. It was interesting to see the variety of food and cultures that were there. It was one of the best wedding dinners I have ever been to.
