Wedding colour scheme for winter?

What do you think about this colour scheme for a wedding in October? Cream for wedding dress, latte colour for bridesmaids, and chocolate brown for men's suits. THese would also be the colours for the reception decorations. Also what flowers shouls I have with this colour scheme? I was thinking roses, cream for me, what colour for bridesmaids?

Wedding colour scheme for winter?
When I was married in the early 70's, my dress was Cream, and the men's suits were Latte, with chocolate Brown trim !!!

My bridesmaids were the same dress in tones of green and rust. My advice to you is: You should have your wedding in any color scheme that is pleasing to you, so when you settle on a final choice, Go for it!!

If you decide to go with Creme and Browns, remember these are Neutral-or background colors, so you will need something else to give life to the visual experience.

Your flowers can be creme, yet make the bridesmaids full of color-meaning one strong color for all of them or mixed colors; the decorations trimming out the reception should echo the colors of your girls flowers, and add alot of green leafy trim with the decorations, so it won't look drab.

You can take a length of fabric, the same color as the guys suits, and the girls dressed with you when you go to the florist and set the different selections on them, then...this is important...walk across the room and look at them from a distance. Up close most anything will look good if the florist does good work, yet by stepping back you can see if the flowers blend in to the latte dress behind them, or if they bring it to life. It's an old interior decorating trick.

Congrads, and much luck,

Reply:I like the brown/latte color for autumn. maybe you should have red flowers and the BM's can have white, so you're not holding white flowers against your white dress.
Reply:Real pretty colors! I would go look at www.ChurchBows.com and look at the decorations and flowers they have.
Reply:october is fall..

and oranges, red and browns are the best color..

roses are beautiful...

.
Reply:I picture rust colored flowers, maybe calla lilies, for your bridesmaids.

Reply:That sounds beautiful. With those colors you could have a chocolate themed wedding and the bridesmaids could carry Chocolate Cosmos flowers, which actually smell like chocolate! http://fiftyflowers.com/product/Chocolat...

Also - I am a fan of brown suits but you will find it's very hard to actually rent some. You might want to go with black suits and brown vests.
Reply:It sounds beautiful! However, I have to agree with some of the answers regarding the color of flowers that you carry. I got married in September and my colors were black and white with some pretty fall colors in my flowers. My florist explained to me that with a white dress and white flowers, I would just look like a white "glow" in the picutres. I ended up carrying a gorgeous colored bouquet and my girls carried white calla bouquets and I couldn't be happier with how it all looked. I also put white boutonnieres on the guys and my fiance had a colored calla that matched my bouquet on his lapel.
Reply:Dont put the men in brown suits, You and the maids sound lovely, but a previous poster mentioned using the same palette in the 70's, and when you see the pics Im sure you know its from the 70's, no offense. Brown mens suits are not a color that is always in fashion it goes in and out. Five years from now when the whole chocolate and baby blue thing is over, people will look at the pics the way you look at teal and magenta from the 80's.
Reply:Very beautiful, and I would recommend white lowers--perhaps calla lilies. October is fall, not winter =]
Reply:I think the colors you are choosing are great, but be aware that October is Fall, not winter.

My only concern for the flowers is that if your dress is cream and flowers are cream that the flowers aren't going to stand out in pictures. Either put some greenery around them or maybe get some ribbons put in them. Personally, I would suggest you get colored flowers so they actually stand up against your dress. Let the girls carry cream flowers.
Reply:I think fall colors would work. Orange, yellows, rust.
Reply:I got married in February. I had a cream dress with cold design on it my small bridesmaids had very similar to me and my chief bridesmaid had deep red.

Flowers I went very simple I had a single long stemmed red rose and my chief bridesmaid had a single long stemmed cream one.

My little bridesmaids had a drawstring back to compliment their dresses and bridesmaid me to you bears. (also gave them something to play with during the ceremony).
Reply:i love those colors, i'd suggest fall flowers with winter wheat mixed in. a golden color would look nice .
