Wedding planning? How much did you spend?

How much did it cost you to get married and have a nice wedding? We already have a church and reception hall. How much was cake, decorations, flowers, food and all the other things, I am probably leaving out. Does anyone have any good sites that I can check out?

Wedding planning? How much did you spend?
theknot.com has budgeting tools and you put the price you want to spend in and it tell you how much (approx) you should spend on everything you listed.

big weddings are expensive.
Reply:we spent about $25,000. the golf club i got married at provided almost everything so they charged a lot.
Reply:cost us under $4000.

cake $100

decorations $0. we didn't have any.

flowers $20 bouquet for me, and no other flowers.

food $200 caterer came and whipped up delicious meal

dress $400 i designed it and a local dress maker made it for me

suit $200 he found it at a menswear shop

the rest was spent on paying the celebrant and hiring out a few houses in the middle of rainforest, where we got married. then everyone got to stay the night. Lovely :)
Reply:I would say mine cost about $2,000 - pretty low budget for a wedding though.
Reply:Cake: $350

Food: $2000 ($10 per plate... which is quite cheap)

Bouquet: $95 (I got a very small bouquet that consisted of 8 roses and some hydrangeas) I was told by several different florists that the average bridal bouquet costs somewhere between $250 and $600.

Overall, my wedding cost around $9000. This included the purchase of glassware, tablecloths and runners, chair covers, bridal gown (and all accessories), flowers, location, food, vases, bridal portraits, photographer, candy, favors, napkins, dj...etc. Basically, ceremony and reception including dinner and dancing. My fiance took care of the liquor, which ran around $1200 after the purchase of all alcohol and rental of machines, bartender and bar.

The wedding was very classy-looking, and everyone was very impressed with the overall look of it. I good idea (that my mom did) is to buy some things instead of renting them. We discovered that we could buy some things (i.e. table cloths) for the same price as renting... then you just put them on e-bay or however else you'd like to sell them and recoop some of your money. Hope this helps! Sorry I don't have any more detailed information. I have a wonderful mother that took care of basically everything for me!
