Wedding favor ideas?

My fiance and I are getting married in April in Las Vegas and we're having a reception here in Ohio when we get home. Obviously we're already spending a fortune on the wedding so we're looking for inexpensive favor ideas. Our colors are red, black and white. We're working hard to tie the vegas wedding into our reception. Our cake will be decorate in fondant cutouts of hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. The tables will be decorate with cards, poker chips, and dice instead of flowers.

So I really want favors that tie in to the theme but everything is so expensive (like personalized playing cards). Does anyone have any ideas?? I'm willing to put alot of time into creating something if you have any ideas for something I can make?? or maybe you know of something out there i can buy?

Thanks in advance!!

Wedding favor ideas?
Hi. This site has lots of cute ideas. I like the Bulk Chocolate Poker Chips. You could put these in little mesh bags.

Also....here is the main site where I saw this idea:

There are LOTS of ideas on this site, from decorations, to cake tops, to favors, etc!

Good luck!
Reply:here is an inexpesive decoration to do, AS you come out of the church, Get 2 yeards of Mesh, its netting thin netting, and 4 yeards of colo ribbon, 1 box of rice, or birdseed, 1 or 2 easter baskets, Now When you get the Mesh, sold in any art stores, Cut the mesh into tiny squares of maybe 200 or more people, place 1 teaspoon of rice or birdseed in the middle of the mesh, wrap up and tie the colorful ribbon around the neck of the mesh to hold, Put each made sachets in the Eastewr basket , decoratew the baskets also with left over ribbons, of black and white, As you or the maid of honor comes out of the church, Have the baskets ready for the people when they come out to receive one, And they can let the rivbbbons go, and throw the rice at you, Soo they look like little sachets, You know the kind you get in the smelly good counter, make enough for each guests, Make the Mesh, White in color, and the ribbons would be Red and black around , usually the ring bearer is in charge of that, My ring bearer disapperaed on me, Soo my Father ended up having to hand them out, Everyone all thought it was a cute idea, I had peach at my wedding, Soo it was white and orange with mine,
Reply:You could scatter casino chips around the table to bring in the theme. I've also seen it done where instead of favors at each place setting, the couple put a single card at each setting. Then during the night someone would draw a card out of a bowl that cooresponded with one place setting at each of the tables to give away the centerpiece.

I've also seen bottle stoppers with the spade, heart, diamond or club on the end of it. very cute. Or shot glasses with your names on them.

Good luck!
Reply:If you have a computer with a clip art or graphics software, you could pretty much do anything! you could make up some labels with the las vegas sign or dice, with your names and wedding date, and wrap them around hershey bars. you could do the same with tiny round stickers and put them on those chocolate gold coins. if you can get your hands on a Oriental Trader catalog (or google their website), they have TONS of vegas type little things for parties that are very cheap--you could easily put a cute little tag on any of their items with your wedding information and use those as favors.

Reply:How fun--what a great theme! Congratulations! Are you doing assigned seating for a dinner? If so, I love the idea of using playing cards as place cards and then so people can find their tables, name each table after a hand in poker i.e. Full House or after a different poker game like Five Card Stud (the singles table), or Texas Hold 'Em, or Black Jack and then the centerpiece can correspond to the name of the table. Have everything that's needed to play that particular poker game in a cute basket in the center with rules printed out on the table so that everyone can play while waiting for the food to be served or as a break from dancing. At the end of the night someone can take them home. I also loved the idea of the choc. poker chips scattered on the tables...everyone likes to nibble before the food comes! Stay away from something cheesy--I know we personally have one too many beer coozies with somebody's wedding info that are sitting in the back of the cupboard collecting dust! Good Luck!
Reply:Each guest gets a lotto ticket and some chocolate coins. Add a cute little saying about being "lucky in love" if you want.

You can still do playing cards....not everything has to be personalized. Instead just wrap the cards like a present and use a scrapbooking stamp that is "Vegasy" and a paint pen to make them personalized.

*you throw in the coins in case the ticket isn't a winner or they are too young to play it :)
Reply:Maybe you can put an inexpensive disposable camera on every table with either a note or a verbal announcement instructing people at each table to take candid shots and use up the film. This way you get a lot of different pics, it's fun for the guests, and you don't have to do much work yourself getting lots of photos. Just have people leave the camera on the tables at the end of the reception, or have them deposit them in a giant box on their way out. Later, when all of the film is developed, you can enjoy looking at the pics with all your family and friends (aka the photographers). :)

Congrats on your wedding!
Reply:i would get a cheap 5 dollar engraver which u can get at oriental trading and look for little poker chip key chains. Engrave the name of the person and the wedding date and couple
Reply:What about chocolate poker chips. The foil wrap looks just like chips and I believe they are even in those colors.

Reply:While in Vegas, get decks of cards, some of the hotels and casinos would probably give them to you are a good price. Bring home the authentic Vegas cards, order ribbon in your color or with your name on it. Tie the ribbon around the deck of cards, You have your favor and decorations for the table. Do the same with dice, and perhaps, if lucky enough, bring home a chip from your winnings.

Or what about cookie cutters in the shape of diamond, hearts, spades, and clubs, tied with a ribbon in your colors. Or order cookies in the shapes and colors and have them as favors. You have plenty of options and certainly sounds like a lot of fun.

Several websites: iparty.com, orientaltrading.com. Google under vegas party themes.

Hope you are lucky in love and always have a pair of aces in your hole cards. Best wishes.
