Ever been to an expensive wedding?

the most expensive wedding i've been to was about $365,000. that was in NY. its was filled with extravagance. the bride and the groom arrived at the reception in a Bentley. the flowers were alone worth around $80,000. Have you ever been to an expensive wedding? how much was the wedding? give some details..

Ever been to an expensive wedding?
The most expensive one I went to was about $100,000, in New York also. It was ridiculous, the whole time I just wanted to scream "WHY are you spending so much money for a single day?!" I do realize that weddings cost a lot of money, but there's expensive and then there's gaudy.
Reply:I went to two weddings recently in So. Cal. that must have been pretty pricey. One was at Trump National Golf Course, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The other was at the Beverly Hills Hotel. I couldn't say for sure how much each cost, but they were posh in the extreme.
Reply:I have been to a few weddings, and particularly one of them seemed very lavish now that I think about it, but until very recently I didn't even realize how much money people spend on weddings. I just like to go and have a good time. So, back then, I wasn't paying attention to how much things cost, I just enjoyed myself.

(I'm from a different country - and when I got married back home, I had about 25 guests, which was considered a "big" wedding.)
Reply:I was at one I thought was expensive last month, but how would anyone know how much it cost unless the couple was so crass as to announce it? And spending that much on a wedding--I wonder whether they thought the expense was worth it once it was all said and done.
Reply:I was at a Bar Mitzvah once with at least 300 people. They had 2 bands so that one band was always playing while the other band took a break, and a comedian. They spared no expense on anything: appetizers, meal, dessert bar, drinks, fancy ice sculpture. Plus, they had a photographer snapping pictures of guests and giving it to them in their own picture frame. Favors included glowing necklaces and sunglasses. I have no idea how much they spent.
