Wedding Centerpieces??

I'm getting married in July, and My flowers I think are going to be orchids. What are some good centerpiece ideas. With and without flowers being used?? Thanks a bunch!

F.Y.I we have kind of an oriental theme going, because of our ceremony spot. So we are trying to incorporate that theme into our reception. It's an evening wedding as well. Thanks again!

Wedding Centerpieces??
I think that a small vase with one or two orchids in it would make a lovely centerpiece. very simple and elegant. If you want to, you could put a flat mirror underneath the vase.

Centerpieces, in my opinion, should be fairly small. The big ones are really pretty, but the guests would probably like to be able to see their friends sitting across the table. It's kind of annoying to have to talk around a flower arrangement.

My friend and I are making the centerpieces for my wedding. We're using roses, though. We're buying the short, round bowl-type vases, cutting the stems of the roses so that just the flower part is outside the vase, and putting about 5-6 roses per vase. The venue provides a flat mirror and 3 votive candles for each table. The small rose arrangements just add a little color.
Reply:to cut costs, we used candles floating in little bowls and scattered flower petals around the tables.

you could use red candles as red symbolizes good luck in asian culture.
Reply:Ooh what about some of those pretty paper garden lantern things. You can get them in all colors with different writings and pictures on them. I think that would be pretty.

Or a bonsai tree and a little waterfall machine with flower petals and origami all around.

Or some of those green bamboo like plants ... i don't know what they're called but they're really pretty.
Reply:Try this site.

You could have your orchids in bud vases on each table to continue your asian theme and give each female guest a complimenting favor. They have a really cute orchid favor and the very bottom one on the page is an asian themed one with the "double happiness" symbol.

Reply:oriental is about simplicity, so go simple. some kind of rice paper candle holder maybe with a single orchid in a vase.
Reply:You can get small 'chinese take out' boxes in your colors and fill them with fortune cookies, candies, mints, nuts, etc. Or you get get the plastic translucent ones and close the tops, but have the battery operated tea lights inside to give off a nice glow. Maybe do the tea light idea in a larger one with smaller ones around it with either lights or edibles or a combo of both. http://images.theknot.com/blimages/10867...

A tall vase with a single orchid, or bunch of honeysuckle, depending upon your colors even wisteria or lilacs. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

A lantern with am Asian inspired symbol in the frosted glass with either a candle or battery operated tea light would add charm. http://search.stores.ebay.com/Unique-Spe...
Reply:How about origami animal centerpieces. birds, rabbits, etc...

Or small Banzai trees people could take home with them.
Reply:Fortune cookies
Reply:A lot of teh time you can pick up the lucky bamboo potted in cut little oriental pots at flea markets or asian import store for very little expense and then they make good gifts for the bridal party or guests to take home. Or you could do the bettas in a little glass bowl.
Reply:Get some bud vases or test tubes and put a stalk of lucky bamboo in each one. (about $1 each)

Group them together and place in a very simple square box in the center of the table. (go for that zen look) Use smooth river stones to make the "base" instead of a mirrored tile and have it gradually get further appart. Clip a few orchids and stud the river rocks and perhaps place one or two in the bamboo shoots.

surround with a few votives for romance if you like (note: not in a perfect circle)

At the end of the evening let guests take home a piece of lucky bamboo as their favors if they wish.
