I am helping with a friends wedding?

Does anyone have any unusual ideas for favors etc to be put on the tables at the reception?

We already have sweets, bubbles and flowers.

I absolutely loved a website called Orientaltrading.com!!!! They were absolutely phenomenal with ideas to purchase. My hubby and I did fortune cookies as favors. They are made just for the wedding occasion! The website has tons of stuff to give you ideas and for wedding decorations also! Plus it is fairly cheap on a lot of things which is great for the buget.
Reply:why not try something unique to the couple. ie if he is a machanic get some nuts and bolts and put the person s name on them with a pretty ribbon. alternativley go and buy some pebbles and put the couples names on them, or try lotto scratch cards
Reply:quick quiz about the happy couple

on the confetti website aswell as others you can get trivia boxes good for getting guests to chat if not all well known to each other

depending on your style glow stuff there is so much ie straws whistles bracelets wands

fortune fish

if you have a set seating plan questions about the guests on each table another way to get them talking

this can be extended to the whole reception in the way of a competition

its very easy to get carried away with this sort of stuff with what you have already do you realy need any more
Reply:♥ I am signed up with www.weddingchannel.com and they are an excellent website. They have ALL the help you'll need finding the perfect everything to help your friend! ;-)
Reply:Little bells are always fun, and less messy than bubbles when the newlyweds leave. My brother and his fiance (wife) had beautifully gift-wrapped packs of playing cards on their table (they both live in Vegas and work in casinos). Think of something that will represent something unique about the couple. Also, ribbon running from one end of the table (if they are long) to the other helps keep the decor from looking crowded and luminarias provide great warm lighting without having to worry about some kid spilling wax everywhere. Good luck!
Reply:goldfish... I photographed a wedding and they had goldfish in bowls on each table with some gravel in the bottom. Didn't cost them much. They used the feeder gold fish, bowls were way under $1 each a bag of gravel went a long way. On top of each bowl floated a lit candle. It was very unique and gorgeous. At the end of the night, whoever wanted got to take one home.
Reply:I went to a wedding where all the female guests were given Paul Smith perfume! Really nice idea!
