I'm getting married in July. A very good friend is doing all of my flowers.?

I want to 'recognize' her in a really special way at the reception. I'm giving her a photo album and a frame, but I want everyone at the wedding to know how wonderful and talented she is. I want to do something really special but I don't know what. Any ideas?

Thanks!

If it were me in the same situation, I would hate to be recognized publicly. Is your friend anything like me? If you are making programs, you can put a little note in the program thanking her for the floral arrangements . . . but if it were me, I would be uncomfortable with being verbally thanked or toasted at the wedding/reception. Just my opinion.

I think one of the best things you can do is make sure she accepts payment for all supplies used in making your floral arrangements. She may not want to be paid full price for her work like she was doing a stranger's wedding, but I think she should be paid for the supplies. Tell her the labor can be her wedding gift to you.

The second thing you can do is write her a nice thank-you note after the wedding. Tell her how much you appreciate her time and her effort. Tell her how much you think the floral arrangements enhanced the day.

Good luck to you. I hope you have a lovely wedding.
Reply:Toast her! And I want to thank Mary Jenkins, who did all of my flowers for the wedding and reception, she did a great job! Would you all please raise your glasses to her!

If you are having programs for the ceremony, include her name on them.

And the album and frame are just fine as gifts.
Reply:You could put a framed sign on the sign-in table that says: "Flowers made special by Jane Doe" or you could thank her out loud at your reception. Or you could hand the bouquet to her as a keepsake for her instead of throwing it. There's 3 good ideas so good luck.
Reply:I would just toast her and thank her for the beautiful flowers. It will make her feel really special becuase people will be praising her work all night long after your toast.
