Black and gold for wedding colors??

I'm having a backyard reception at my parents house and they just bought gorgeous black and gold furniture (stripes). I thought black and gold would be very pretty for my wedding colors (bridesmaids in black dresses with gold sash). Would like to know thoughts on black and gold for wedding colors and what color flowers should I choose?

Black and gold for wedding colors??
It sounds beautiful. I wouldn't do the gold sash though. Let your girls wear cocktail/little black dresses. Especially since it's an outdoor wedding. (Do be careful of the time of year since black can get very hot!)

With these colors you may want to add flowers in a bright, bold color to give eveything a nice punch %26amp; keep things from getting to heavy.
Reply:black, normally , is never choosed inanything associated with wedding in India. But if you are already bought it, what is the use of asking this question??
Reply:i don't know about the black. to me, black symbolizes cold and like death, not warm and comforting, but that could just be me. i think the colors look extremely pretty together, though, and if you think black symbolizes something else, then go for it!
Reply:Go Steelers!
Reply:Black %26amp; Gold are very pretty together. You could use black and white flowers, black, white and gold flowers, etc. You should go to www. ChurchBows. Com and get the bows they have in Black %26amp; Gold. They are very inexpensive and Beautiful! Good Luck!
Reply:SHE ALREADY CHOSE THE COLORS PEOPLE~! dont listen to them... You need something to make it bright... I will stick with white flowers
Reply:Look,( Half if not most) black folks in the ghetto does the gold and black thing. As soon as I read your post, that what I saw.

Pick something else

BTW, I am black and use to live in the ghetto, so relax ppl.
Reply:i wouldnt choose black and gold. maybe black and silver
Reply:no offense but it sounds like you and every one will be a bumble bee! sry! and congrats!
Reply:Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

As with everything....in the end it is YOUR choice. However, since you asked.....no I would not do that. I would not try to coordinate wedding colors with the colors of the furniture.

I know black is basic and can be worn anywhere....but I think of black as being more formal....not something for a backyard reception. I would go with something lighter....I love the pale green out now (celadon?) like this dress:

Or another pale color. Just my personal preferance. Again, it's your wedding...so your choice!

Good luck with your decision!
Reply:I think those colors look brilliant together. I had a friend who used them, I would def. use black dresses with the gold sash though... her BM dresses were gold on the top and black on the bottom and I think it washed out a few of the BM. Go with the sash! Good luck!
Reply:If you decorate with golden color artificial flowers it looks pretty and adorable. But if you want to choose multi color then you can go for yellow, pink, white and orange with good green creepers, which looks natural.

In India Black is not a wedding color, but for reception that is o.k.
Reply:I think it sound beautiful...and cocktail dresses would be ideal and bright colored flowers like mixed summer flowers
Reply:Check out Alfred Angelo Gowns. You may be pleasantly surprised: http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/...
Reply:AMAZING. Those are actually my wedding colors too. :D

I'm thinking about doing white all white flowers. Because it doesnt clash and you cant go wrong. then you can tie the bunch with like gold or black thick ribbon.
Reply:black is like if you are going to a funeral
