Best month for outdoor michigan beach wedding?

What is the best month for a wedding in michigan on lake michigan? I would like april 24th but it is way too cold in michigan still in april... I would like lilacs as a main flower...so maybe the end of may or early june? What do you guys think? I don't want it to be too hot like maybe 65-75 would be my ideal temps...the reception would be inside since it is still pretty cold at night in the spring in michigan... the ceremony would be near sunset ... I don't want to have my wedding too far away for it to be a "destination wedding" where it would be really far for everyone to travel... this would be about an hour for most maybe two hours driving for a few...also, is 2 hours of driving too much to ask for people to drive... i guess i don't care so much about that ...i would like everyone to come but it is my wedding so I get to pick where it is lol ...

Best month for outdoor michigan beach wedding?
I would say early June. Only because my brother and his wife got married in May several years ago, and it snowed. Don't way til July or August because, well, you know how hot %26amp; humid it can be here!

Maybe you could suggest that the guests arrive the night before the wedding for an intimate dinner. That way, they will be "fresh" for the next day. And it could turn your wedding into a big party weekend/reunion type thing.

Good luck!
Reply:Since I live in michigan I know exactly what you are talking about. Let me say congrats!!! Go for early to mid june. or if you are willing to use artificail lilacs you can have it even in late june. alot of places have really nice silk flowers that look real. Like joanns or michaels. Look into Ludington for a good place for your wedding. It is a small city, but they have a beautiful beach, and there are tons of nice places to hold your reception. No I dont think that driving a few hours will keep anyone away from your wedding. also a nice place to check out for a reception site is the Barothy lodges, they have a reception site as well as lodges for family to stay, private lodges that sleep up to 21 people in a lodge with I think 8 different lodges available. Good Luck!!!!
Reply:I live in Sault Sainte Marie and no way would I be outside on lake Mich in April...toooo cold! For real though wait until the end of June or July or your guests will freeze and congratulations on your wedding
Reply:I say the same either may or june i live in michigan (for 20 years) i know our weather. your right maybe the end of may early june.
Reply:I would say the end of May or beginning of June, around that time its not to hot, and not to cool, and all the flowers (including Lilacs) should be in bloom. Congrats!
Reply:june or july
