Does your wedding have a theme?

My wedding is leaning towards an elegant picnic theme. We are serving cold appetizers/ fingerfoods in baskets, sipping wine and using daisies as flowers. It also helps that our ceremony is taking place in the evening along a dock, and the reception inside a glass hall alongside the river (and dock) (don't worry, no checkered tablecloths). Does your wedding have a theme?

We are doing a beach/Tropical theme.
Reply:I am getting married in September at a park. The ceremony is going to be outside but then we rented the chalet for the reception. I didn't want to have too specific of a theme but knew that I needed to to find a way to keep everything coordinated. Our "theme" is rustic late-summer. I am finding that we have much more options (and better luck finding) of decorations, etc with a "loose theme" like this one. I think your theme sounds great and I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful.
Reply:We're doing picnic theme too :) The plan is to have blankets and pillows with a basket(or something similar...) with enough vegetarian finger food for 5 people at each blanket (saw some white organic cottons ones at a local fair trade store that are looking good!) and a wine/ice bucket with a bottle of wine, pitcher of water and some juice, and then for dessert have cupcakes, fruit salad and trifle. The flowers are going to be wildflowers that i'm going to grow to use for my bouquet and decorations. We're going to make little lantern things with old cans and tea lights to put in the trees too. Ah I can't wait!
Reply:Sounds lovely and fun! Are you going to have gingham tablecloths and a couple of bonfires going? That would be cool, too. I want to go!

Our wedding was loosely themed around Victorian roses, the old dark red kind, and our colors were dark red and beige. We got married in an old theatre and the reception was in an old hotel, so we made everything vintage-inspired. It turned out so beautiful, but finding vintage-looking rose stuff was hard...most of it I either made myself or got it on eBay!
Reply:Yes. We're having a Hawaiian themed wedding because Hawaii plays a special role in both of our lives (we're not asking our guests to come in grass skirts and coconuts btw). We didn't want a traditional wedding because it doesn't fit our personalities, so we are going with something that does.
Reply:Our theme is beach n butterflies. Not that we are broadcasting that on our invitations or anything. I dont want it to be like a high school dance.

We are just decorating with butterflies, and shells. Should all be very pretty,.

Butterflies hold a special meaning for me, so it is quite fitting that I decorate with them.
