I'm getting married in 16 months (long way to go!) I would just like some fresh and unique ideas for decorating for the reception. Some details to think about:
The Reception is at a Tuscan themed vineyard
Colors: Chocolate/Champagne
Flowers: Green/ivory hydrangia, sage green roses, curly willow sticks
Ambiance: uplighting, candles
Any creative suggestions would be wonderful!! Anything do-it-yourself would be awesome too!!
Wedding ideas/tips for a Chocolate/Champagne colored Wedding in October 2008?
Haha! Sounds like we not only share name (though spelled differently) we share taste! My colors are Green, Chocolate and Ivory with a touch of antique blue in the flowers. I'm also using hydrangea, roses and adding pionese. I plan on incorporating candles somehow in the centerpieces as well.
Mine is at the coast instead of a vineyard, but it sounds like we have similar taste. Have you thought about using potted plants as centerpieces or favors? It could look beautiful in your vineyard setting. Or even pot a few hydrangea plants and bring them with you to flank doors or put at the beginning and end of the aisles. They would be lovely keepsakes at your new house together or planted in your yard.
You could also go to a craft store and get some garden lanterns to put candles in. Some tabletop ones would be lovely as part of a the centerpiece or if your wedding in in the evening you could line the aisle with those.
Reply:The colours you mention are really quite dull. You need to punch it up with some happy colours somewhere!
Reply:Add some fabric with the candles.
Reply:In my opinion, in that particular setting you wouldn't need to do too much more. use rich fabrics and with the candles it will be beautiful. CONGRATS!!

Reply:mirrors under flat marbles and candles
Reply:Sounds like you have most of it wrapped up, but when you said Tuscan vineyard, I thought of those little grapes on vines you can buy from the craft stores. Those could be centerpieces or just decor for the cake %26amp; gift tables. Congrats!
Reply:I am doing the same colours. For my bridesmaid dresses I am using these ones. You can have the dress in campaign with the chocolate trim or the opposite. I have my MOH in the chocolate dress with champagne trim.
BEAUTIFUL and it looks good on all body types
Reply:It sounds absolutely beautiful. I just photographed a wedding back in March that was gold, champagne and sage green. One of the things this bride did at the church was to go to a Indian (as in India) wedding supply and rented the canopy. This was a Baptist wedding so it has nothing to do with religeon and everything to do with decor. It was fabulous., gold and em bordered and beaded.
Also, the wedding I shot last weekend used these tall grapevine vases, about three feet tall but they inverted them and silled them with a really fine fabric that was the weeding colors.
I can send you pictures of all of this if you like.. My email like is at the bottom of my web site. www.hollowaysphotography.com.
Congrats on the wedding. Sounds like you are a bride with it all together.
Reply:I do all kinds of wedding florals and candles. Check out my site.
