Fall Wedding, what do you think?

I'm having a fall wedding and reception this Septmeber outdoors in our large and very open back yard. I've got my colors picked, burgandy, burnt orange and gold. The guys will be wearing tuxs with camo vests. I'm going to have leaf girls instead of flower girls. For my centerpieces I've to go with edible centerpieces, using fruit and veggies. I've decided to go with a small tiered cake in a different flavor and then also having a large sheet cake in chocolate and white. We're going to have a buffet style fish fry, with hushpuppies, corn bread, fries, okra, and other things we can think of. We're having soda, water and a good deal of alchol. And it may sound like most everything is figured out but alot of it isn't but I wanted to know what people thought so far.

Fall Wedding, what do you think?
I love it! I really like the idea of the leaf girls too. = ]
Reply:Sounds good to me.

Do you have anything to eat for people who don't like fish? While I think the menu sounds yummy, I know several people who wouldn't eat it and would only eat the sides.
Reply:sound good. its the little details that realy put it all together and make the wedding personal.

Good job girl!!!!!!!
Reply:It sounds just lovely, but I had to google hushpuppies (I'm from western Canada!). To us, hush puppies are a brand of shoes!
Reply:i think i have seen this episode before....

Wasnt it on My Big Fat Redneck Wedding???

LOL Great job on being very original!
Reply:I think it sounds good so far and you've made a lot of good decisions. Next steps will be to choose dresses, music (who, what, where, etc.) contact rental companies to reserve the tables, chairs, linens, tents, etc. Talk to a lighting contractor about running the power and light placement for everything. Consider using luminarias to light walkways.

A vital aspect to think of....bathrooms! Are you going to want everyone traipsing through the house or are you going to rent portable ones? Contact and reserve those as well, since you will already be in to high school football season and they will need to be able to accommodate you as well as the stadiums.

Good Luck!!!!
Reply:Nice! I wish I had a lovely back yard to get married in.

I saw a trellis at Lowe's over the weekend...and very simple wooden one that you can grow vines on. Have you thought of getting one? This was $199. I think it would be so nice to plant moonflowers on it (fast growing vine with night blooming flowers) if it is an evening wedding...or a beautiful clematis vine (deep purple flowers) if it is a day wedding.

These are both fast growing flowers. Congrats, sounds wonderful and delicious food choices!
Reply:Sounds lik a great day! Congrats!
Reply:Sounds good. I love the idea of "leaf" girls for the fall - never heard of that before.
Reply:Sounds cute! I like the name of the leaf girls, too! Do an image search on fall wedding decor and you will see alot of ideas.

Good luck!
Reply:I love your ideas; very unique, memorable and fun. The only thing I would suggest is add a simple mixed vegetable dish (broccoli/cauliflower?) as well as another main dish, such as chicken (fried or baked) for those who can't or won't eat the fish.
