Help with wedding decorations?

I already have an idea of what I want which is a butterfly/garden theme wedding and reception. I want the wedding out doors with white chairs for people to sit on but I want to accent them with something like flowers or bows in a differnt color. The flower girls will be wearing nice dresses with fairy wings and will drop pastel flower petals on the grass isle. I want the reception to be indoors but am unsure how to pull the whole look together. Light pink, purple, green, and yellow come to my mind when I think butterfly/garden. I wanted to have flower centerpieces in light colors then a few flowers with a pop of bright color I also am going to put butterflys in the centerpieces. I am not sure what color table cloths I was thinking light green but will this work? I want it to have a garden/butterfly feel but also be clean and somewhat modern.. how can I pull this off? I want to have light colors but also a pop of color in some places. What colors should I use on what things?

Help with wedding decorations?
I'm sorry but I have to agree with others here on this one. My daughter got engaged a year ago and has changed her "theme" / "colors" 3 times!

It's ok to get a feel for what will be needed and what is involved in the planning process but don't limit yourself to colors and/or themes just yet.

I would recommend attending a few bridal shows if that's doable, they have many great ideas and suggestions. Start making a notebook, tearing out pictures from magazines %26amp; such (send away for all the free wedding mags you can). This will help you organize your thoughts, that way when the day does come you will be ready to start the real planning.

Good luck and have fun!

PS I think that the scheme that you have in mind is beautiful and rather timeless, and you can certainly start with that and let it evolve.
Reply:Can i just tell you how many times I've changed my colors in the last year! about 20! You are going to change your mind so many times before you get married, there is no sense in stressing over it now! I like your theme but I would see what colors are hot when you're ready to get married.
Reply:skip then whole thing all together!!!

by the time you're even ready to get married, you'll have grown out of this butterfly phase!!!!

soooooo silly.
Reply:What? Ask again in 3 years
Reply:OMG! VAL!

i looooooove the new name!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Honestly, your personal taste may change in 4 years. What sounds like a good color-combo now may be seen as hideous in 4 years. Cost will also change drastically by then as well. Really, planning a wedding and organizing it isn't that hard, and can be done in a pinch or on a shoe-string budget if need be. I'd say, focus on content because that will never change; appearances will and also won't matter after all is said and done. The wedding day ... is only one day. Its better to spend 4 years planning your marriage instead. Enjoy your studies, focus on the quality of your career, friendships, and relationship; enjoy what you have now as you plan for the future, not just for one day.
Reply:What about white tablecloths on round tables, with 2 criss-crossing 8-12 inch table runners in pale green, or green and white picnic check, or a butterfly print (see below link)....I would stick with natural, organic, wild flowers.....or get a little flat of grass (can be purchased through a florist or at your home improvement/gardening store), place the grass in silver pans (cookie tray or tin containers made for casseroles/catering - can buy many for cheap at dollar store), using floral wire, wrap stems of hearty flowers and place them in the grass, so it looks like they are growing out of the grass.

Ignore the haters, it's nice and fun to plan early and get cool ideas...
