Wedding colors - gold and hot pink - ideas?

I'm planning my wedding (Feb 07) and my colours are gold and hot pink. Bridesmaids are wearing champagne/gold and my dress will be ivory with gold accents and I will have hot pink flowers. The reception will be hot pink and gold but I'm having trouble finding any pictures of this colour combination.. it is usually white and something.. I don't really want too much white if I can help it as I am Chinese and white is not a wedding colour. Most Chinese weddings are red/gold but I want to be different which is why I chose hot pink and gold. Thanks!

Any suggestions would be appreciate - ceremony decorations, reception decorations, invitations, flowers, etc..

I think that's a great combo and is more modern and different to the usual red and gold. What about pink lillies for the flowers? Also hot pink tulips/gerbras/roses would be nice. You could mix in with yellow flowers or green foilage. The cake could be a gold double happy foil cake topper with hot pink ribbon around the sides or hot pink flowers on top of cake with gold ribbon. The invites could be on hot pink card with gold foil double happy. You could also find Chinese ones that come in pink. I like chinese latterns for decorations, also use hot pink table clothes, or at least use one on the cake table. This is all I can think of for now. Congratulations! :)
Reply:do you seriously want hot pink??? how will that appear 20 yrs from now when you're looking back at pictures?
Reply:Check the Barbie section at Toys R Us or The Party Store. Everything there is hot pink. That should give you some ideas.
Reply:If you can't find decorations you like, why not make your own? Almost anything can be spray painted.

Buy what you like and paint it the colors that you want for your wedding. Papercuts, flowers, branches, fans - it all can be customized to your colors.

Cardboard boxes spray painted to a high black gloss with gold accents filled with stones for weight than filled with hot pink flowers would look pretty. Dried flowers can be spray painted as well as fresh ones as long as you totally paint them so the are sealed. Just hand then upside down on a wire. Driftwood can be painted too - and rocks.

You could stencil dragons, fans, whatever you want onto paper table cloths. You could buy the traditional hanging decorations in the colors they have and paint them yourself.

Use your imagination. I was just wondering if hot pink cotton candy could be made into centerpieces that your guests could eat? You could order hot pink candy and incorporate it into centerpieces too.

Congratulations and have fun!
