Suggestions for a beach themed wedding?

OK, so I want a beach themed wedding. Here is what I am planning: Married at sunset, reception at night. Outdoors, white christmas lights, white candles lit, and white flowers here and there. I want a bonfire and I want the food to be barbequed on site. Not too formal, but still very nice.

I need ideas on a cute guest book, favors, invitations, and cake decoration. And whatever else you can think of!

Thanks!

Reply:my sister is having a beach theme wedding. www.theknot.com has some great ideas. for invites you can make your own with a kit that you can by at any craft store. add a few touches of your own to them like a sea shell at the top with a bow that is the same colors as your bridal party. for favor margarita glass are cute, and cheap at the Oriental trading company. for cakes look at www.theknot.com, they have great pics of really nice beach cakes. there is an all white and has white seashelss on it, it is very pretty.
Reply:You're going to have hungry guests standing around waiting for food. Having it catered is fast, efficient, and the caterers do the set up. I think you should reconsider that barbeque on site. A hundred things could go wrong. Getting several foods to come together at one time for numerous guests is no easy feat.
Reply:I’m doing a beach themed wedding myself, in April 2008 with about 150 people. We are having the reception and the wedding all in the same banquet hall room...Our colors are Periwinkle, dark purple and white.

I’ll be creating a “pirate’s chest” card box, with beads, fake jewels, gold wrapped chocolate coins…and for favors, I’m going to give away little periwinkle bags of 5 gold wrapped chocolate coins.

We're doing fish bowl centerpieces filled with periwinkle gravel, seashells, water and floating candles. The fish bowls will be surrounded by fisherman's netting and more seashells. The wedding cake is "Under the sea and on the beach"...the first two layers will look like they are under water, with sea life and blue icing, the top of the second layer will be covered with crushed raw sugar like sand. We're including our two dogs, so two dog figures dressed up with a bowtie and a veil will be laying on the "beach" and on top of the cake will be two palm trees in the shape of a heart.

Periwinkle and white are the main colors...bridesmaids are going to be in "Peri" from david's bridal. The dark purple is only an accent color in the flowers. I wanted a blue color for the beach theme, but I didn't like any of the David's Bridal colors of blue other than Periwinkle.

My best friend designed my veil...the comb has white seashells and white silk roses with pearls on it

Do a search for Beach Wedding on Ebay. There are a number of Guest Book/Pen sets with seashells on them, perfect for your beach theme.

Also on Ebay: Send and Seal invitations. They are all in one invitations that you fold up and put a sticker on, then mail the whole invitation without envelopes. The RSVP card is attached to the inside of the invite, gets torn off and mailed back like a post card. It is an affordable and informal way to do your invitations. There are seashell designs available on ebay that will also fit the beach theme. :)
Reply:You should get tiki torches going up the aisle. I like your ideas so far, sounds beautiful! I've always wanted to get married on a beach barefoot.

Ask your guests to wear all white or something linen %26amp; casual.

Best wishes %26amp; congratulations!
Reply:Go to www.orientaltradding.com they have a lot of cute things.

Good Luck!!!
Reply:Favors: Go to a craftstore and buy a couple bags of seashells then glue them to a glass or plastic votive candle holder. You can add colored sand to it too in the colors of your wedding. Take one of the shells glue a pretty piece of paper with yours and your fiances name on it and the date inside then glue this to one side of the votive. You don't have to use paper, you can just write it inside of the shell. Insert a candle, some candy around it and tie it up in cellophane. Another idea is tiny picture frames with seashells glued to it, you can put a pic of you and your fiance inside, or leave it blank for them to use.

Guest book: Take a piece of brown wrapping paper, ina ny length you want. If its a large wedding make sure its at least 3 feet long. Using a lighter carefully burn the edges to make a nice border. At the top of the page, glue a small piece of hemp yarn across the top to create a border. Above this in bold print of your choice, use a nautical print, place the date and your and your fiances names. At the reception, make sure everyone signs your scroll...You could even decorate the pen and pen holder with the rope or even some shells.

Invitations: Make shell shaped invitations, or print them yourself on beach printed paper.

Cake: Have a fondant cake made to reflect the beach. It can have sugar sand on it and a bride and groom in bathing suits. Pretty much anything you can think of can be done for the right price.

Oh and Tiki Torches provide good lighting, with the right ambience....

Good luck!
Reply:Ok, the invitations should look like corals. My sis did that and everyone loved it!

Here's are some things you might like...we're having a beach wedding away, then a reception later locally, and I thought these things could help us incorporate the beach theme into the reception...
Reply:cake should definatly be a seashell cake. check them out @ awesomepartyplanners.com.
Reply:Tell me what you think....I am planning a wedding in Hawaii for June/July of next year and when we come home we are having a dinner party(sorta kinda)...I havn't decided how I am going to use this idea but here it goes......I am going to do a message in a bottle. I am going to use a sand colored piece of paper, burn the edges a little, but some sand in a bottle and write personal messages to my bridal party, or use them as reception invites or wedding announcements. I am having more of a cocktail party type reception where everyone wears white or linen and then afterwards the guys and girls are going to split up for our bachelor parties( I know we will be married, but we are o.k. with having one more night of fun)...we wont get to do the bachelor/bachelorette before we leave because we will be living in a different state from all of our real family and friends. We are going to eat stuff like shrimp kabobs, and crab salad and fruit trays and good alcohol!
Reply:dolphins, whales, go to home depot and buy sand, salty water
Reply:here is a site i found that has beach themed wedding favors and other items that you can buy but i am sure you can do a couple yourself if you wanted to hope they help
Reply:Go to orientaltradingcompany.com they have real cute inexpensive stuff.
