How much did the flowers for your wedding cost?

i was looking online, and some that i saw were over 100 dollars!!! to me that seems a bit ridiculous for one bouquet... i won't even mention how much the center pieces and reception decorations were!! i just want an average prices people paid for theirs.. thanks !=^-^=

How much did the flowers for your wedding cost?
When I first got my quote it was for $1,000, which is wayyy more than I wanted to spend. My florist was great, and helped with the following ideas:

If you don't need to keep your bouquet, us it as your toss bouquet, too.

If you do get a toss bouquet, use it as decoration on the guest book table or cake table until you need it.

Don't have an arrangement made for the head table... have your bouquet and your bridesmaids bouquets placed at the front of the table... you can even by small vases for them to be placed in.

Reply:I had very simple centerpieces - tall round vases approx 4" across, with 6 tulips wound around inside and a couple sticking out the top along with those stick things florists use (they were very elegant)... and a dozen tulips for the maid-of-honor (I only had the one attendant) and my bouquet, roses, tulips, lizianthis, and some greenery and the head table flowers were a mix of other flowers and greenery with a few roses, tulips and lizianthis. My flowers cost $250 just for the flowers and vases. I was lucky, one of my best friends made all my flowers arrangements for me as our wedding present and didn't charge me labor.
Reply:Where I am having my reception at does the centerpieces so I only had to get flowers for the acutal ceremony. I got a tip from my photgrapher about a local grocery store. They do great work and are very affordable. My flowers only came to about 800
Reply:If you must have real vs, silk; check with your large-chain grocery stores. Sounds frightful but you can save a bundle on flowers %26amp; cakes.
Reply:Flowers are expensive...even more when you have a big wedding. Roses are usually the cheapest (except during Vday). The bride's bouquet usually costs about $100-$300 depending on the flowers in it. For my wedding I plan on having 16 in bridal party (including the children) also my reception will have about 50 tables with the centerpieces being a square vase filled with about 10 roses. The quote my florist gave my was $2000
Reply:my sister ended up getting fake flowers at a local craft store and had them dyed to match her wedding colors and scented them for wedding. this ended up the best thing for her because then she was able to make 2 different bouquets... one that she could throw and then one to keep for a keepsake. they turned out beautiful and i was very impressed and so were all of her guests. good luck and congrats
Reply:I had a very cheap flower (daisy) and I also had a friend doing my flowers. He gave us a HUGE discount but all of my flowers (wedding, reception, rehearsal dinner, bouquets, decorating my cake, etc) was $1000 and he said it normally would have cost about $2500. Flowers are normally a big portion of your budget.
Reply:mine were probably around 2000-2500...not really sure but they were sure worth it...they were beautiful. Spend what you like...just make sure they are beautiful and nothing else will matter. Flowers make your ceremony. Mine sound expensive but it was for everybody in wedding party...church decorations and reception.
