A church wedding then a reception at a lake or a lake wedding???

i thought that it would be romantic getting married by the lake on a sunset then lighting up at least 200 tealights which lasts for 15 hours,, half of the tealights in circular glass balls are hanging on a big tree then my wedding colours would be cream, chocolate brown and peachy pink... while my flowers are cream roses brown calla lilies and peach pink roses...

A church wedding then a reception at a lake or a lake wedding???
that sounds really nice. If a church wedding isn't important to you or your faith then go for having the entire thing at the lake. It can be annoying for guests to travel from the ceremony to the reception when they're in different places, plus if its at a lake after being at a church it may be harder to find if people don't already know where it is.
Reply:I got married in the mountians. The outdoor chaple was in the woods with the lake in the background. I don't have a single regret, it was exactly what we wanted. You'll probably have to find yourself a nondenominational minster to perform the ceremony though, because most religions are stuck on that stupid belief that God is only in a church. Its total BS. God is everywhere, after all, didn't he create nature? I say go for the lake. Your ideas sound amazing and romantic!!!

Reply:One benefit of having the ceremony in a church is seating. For an outdoor ceremony you have to rent additional chairs and aisle runner. Stuff the church already has.

Also, sunset weddings are beautiful, but can be torture on your photography. If the light isn't just right they can turn out quite dark. This happened to a friend of mine.

Is this a private lakefront property? Or are you renting the site? Make sure you look into the owner's opinions on lighting all that flammable material on their property.

It sounds beautiful, whichever way you decide to go.
Reply:Depending on your religion, some churches will not marry you outdoors. So, if having a religious ceremony is important to you, please consult with your pastor before making plans. The lake sounds wonderfully romantic. Good luck with whatever you choose.
